Celestine Homer "Cel" Aman

Celestine "Cel" Aman, age 90, died Saturday, March 12, 2016.

Survived by wife Elva (West) of 65 years, six children, Barbara, Cheryl (Danny) Walker, Randy (Becky), Jim (Denise), Susan and David (Sophie), six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Born Feb. 26, 1926 in Waco, lived in the North Canton/Canton area most of his life, 1944 graduate of Canton South High School, and gained his Bachelors and Master's degrees from The Ohio State University, also a member of the OSU marching band. A World War II Army Air Corp veteran, teacher, principal and director of curriculum for Plain Local Schools/Stark County schools, former owner of Hometown Laundromat in North Canton, member of North Canton Rotary, founding member of Stark Federal Credit Union, member of Christ the Servant Parish (formerly Our Lady of Peace).

Friends may call Tuesday from 6 - 8 pm at the Lamiell Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet Wednesday 11 am at Christ the Servant Parish for a Mass and Christian Burial with Monsignor Lewis Gaetano as celebrant. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Cel was a member of the marching band in 1947 and 1948. He played bass drum.
