Mark Ivan Ashworth

Mark Ivan Ashworth, age 72, of Kettering, Ohio passed away Tuesday April 30, 2013.

Mark was born in Dayton on November 26, 1940 to the late Ivan & Regina (Deck) Ashworth.

He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Mary (Zechar) Ashworth. Mark is survived by his wife, Judy Ashworth; children, Michael Ashworth and Michelle (Brian) Treaster; daughter-in-law, Melanie Ashworth; grandchildren, Corey and Caleigh Ashworth, David, Paul, and Jacob Treaster; brothers, Tom (Barbara) Ashworth and Philip (Katie) Ashworth; mother-in-law, Betty Zechar; brother-in-law, John Zechar; and many other relatives and friends.

He was an active member of Fairhaven Church and a vital part of the Dayton music community for many years. Mark was a proud member of The Ohio State University Marching Band percussion section (1960-'63) and performed with the Alumni Band for several years until his health made it impossible for him to participate.

A memorial service will be held Monday May 6, 2013 at 4 pm at the Fairhaven Church, Centerville, Ohio. Friends are welcome to visit one hour prior to the service.

Arrangements are by the Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel), Kettering, Ohio.

Mark was a member of the marching band's percussion section from 1960 through 1963. He played cymbals.
