Harold Thomas Azallion

December 12, 1928 - February 12, 2019

Harold T. Azallion of Hillard, Ohio 90 passed on February 12, 2019. He was born December 12, 1928 in Lafferty, Ohio to JD and Maybelle (Dinsmore) Azallion who preceded him in death.

He was married October 25, 1953 to Margaret Lucille Krebs who passed April 11, 2008 after 55 years together. He was also preceded in death by his siblings James Dinsmore Azallion wife Betty, and Florence Pitsenbarger, husband Al. He is survived by his children, Patricia Ann Azallion - Deuschle husband, Jim, Janet Louise Sohl husband, John, and Thomas Alan Azallion, wife, Peggy. Grandchildren, Evan, Alex (Kyle) and Anna.

Harold graduated from St. Clairsville High School, and received a Bachelor of Science degree from The Ohio State University; June 1949 where he was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity, OSU chapter and Kappa Kappa PSI Ohio State Marching Band Honorary.

Harold grew up in and had his entire career in retail merchandising. Harold began his career after graduating from The Ohio State University, in 1948, with the S. S. Kresge Co. at the, then contemporary, Town and Country Shopping Center located in Columbus Ohio. Harold joined his brother Jim, in 1950, as a Co-owner of the JD Azallion & Company Department Store in St. Clairsville, Ohio. Harold specialized in apparel until he closed the store in 1984.

Harold was part of The Ohio State University Marching Band from 1945 to 1948 and attended the infamous Snow Bowl football game between OSU and U of M in 1950. Harold was an active member of The Ohio State University Marching Band Alumni and the TBDBITL Alumni Club and received an Honorable Discharge from the United States Navy in 1966. Harold and Lucille were members of the Calvary Presbyterian Church in St. Clairsville, Ohio for 60 plus years and Harold was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Belmont #16 (F&AM).

Harold was especially proud of the accomplishments of his three children and held The Ohio State University close to his heart.

Visitation will be held from 10-11AM Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019 with a funeral service to follow immediately at 11AM at the Tidd Family Funeral Home, 5265 Norwich Street, Hilliard, Ohio 43026. Private burial will be held Monday. Memorials may be made to the OSU Marching Band.

Harold was a member of the marching band from 1945 through 1948. He played baritone as a member of H-Row.
