John Brian Bonner

October 14, 1949 - January 5, 2016

On January 5, 2016 John Brian Bonner passed away at home in Worthington after a long and valiant fight with kidney and liver disease.

Brian is survived by his wife, Janet; his parents, John and Betty; and his children, Adam, Scott and Amanda.

Brian was born October 14, 1949.

He graduated from the Ohio State University with a Masters degree, was the president of Bucket and Dipper, a member of Beta Theta Pi, a Graduate Assistant Director of The Ohio State University Marching Band and squad leader for the drum section. He marched in two Rose Bowls and was proud of his part in the marching band.

His life's work was dedicated to education from Band Director then Assistant Principal with Columbus Public Schools, to evaluating schools for the Ohio Department of Education and retired as the Director of North Central Association.

He was a great man, and put his family first throughout his life. He was a kind and caring soul that will be greatly missed.

Brian was a member of the marching band in 1967 through 1971, playing snare drum in L-Row. The following year, he returned as a Graduate Assistant Director.
