Willis Clifton Burt

October 7, 1935 - August 6, 2012

Willis Clifton Burt, age 76, passed away August 6, 2012 at Riverside Methodist Hospital.

He is preceded in death by parents Francis and Janet Burt. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Catherine Burt; brother, Lawrence (Gwen) Burt; brothers-in-law, Harold Tipton, Calvin (Dorothy) Tipton; sister-in-law, Beulah Carver. Willis is also survived by many nieces and nephews; special friends, Shelley Graf, Craig Campbell, Pat Campbell, Nancy Henry, and Randy and Lisa Smith and many friends from the TBDBITL Alumni Club.

He was a 1952 graduate of North High School and a 1957 graduate of The Ohio State University School of Architecture. He was a member of The Ohio State University Marching Band 1952-1956 and Chairman of The Ohio State University Active Alumni Band for the past 16 years. He was a member of Bethel International United Methodist Church. Member of The Ohio State University President's club, Script Ohio club and The Ohio State University Alumni Assn.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Willis played flugel horn as a member of the marching band from 1952 through 1956. He was a regular member of the Active and HyperActive bands and served on many committees. In 2001 he received the Elvin Donaldson Most Inspirational award. He was also the recipient of the 2008 Script Ohio award.
