Jack E. Feldheimer

Jack E. Feldheimer, 68 of 26 Meadow Lane retired director of the Shrewsbury High School Music Department died Monday, August 26 in the UMass Memorial Medical Center-University Campus, Worcester after a long illness.
He leaves his longtime friend, Dennis Metro of Shrewsbury, an aunt, a sister-in-law and 2 nieces and several cousins.
He was born in Canton, Ohio the son of the late Eugene and Grace (Campbell) and has lived in Shrewsbury for many years. He graduated from Ohio State University and received his Masters in Music from Columbia University, New York City, NY.
Mr. Feldheimer began his long teaching career as a music teacher for the US Air Force in Puerto Rico, Turkey and then Germany. He then taught in Montclair, NJ before coming to Shrewsbury High School Music Department 30 years ago. He retired as the director of the department in 1998. He was known throughout the community for his work producing and directing the annual spring musicals at the high school. He also served as the chorale director for many years.
He attended the First Congregational Church of Shrewsbury, was a member of the board of directors for the Performing Arts School of Worcester. He was active in several area theatre companies, most notably the Worcester County Light Opera Company and the Shrewsbury Players.
His funeral will be held on Saturday, August 31 at 11 AM in the First Congregational Church of Shrewsbury, 19 Church Rd., Shrewsbury. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.

Jack was a member of the marching band in 1952 through 1956 and played bass drum.
