Ralph “Joe” Geese

Ralph “Joe” Geese, 78, of Rusk, Texas and North Pole, Alaska , entered his eternal life on June 9, 2024.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Jacksonville First Assembly of God with Rev. Mike Townsend and Rev. Earl Socia officiating. He will be laid to rest at Providence Cemetery in Jacksonville.
Joe was born in Columbus, Ohio on December 25, 1945, to Ralph J. Geese and Helen Louise Nelson. He was very proud to have marched in The Ohio State University Marching Band playing the baritone and having a 20-year career as an aircraft mechanic in the United States Air Force. Joe and his wife Sharon, enjoy calling North Pole their home, where they served as King and Queen in 2014. While living in Alaska, Joe was a Deacon and Business Manager of the Assembly of God Church. Joe is well known for his strong faith in The Lord Jesus Christ, his willingness to give and help others, and his ever-present sense of humor. He loved to hunt and fish, and always enjoyed cooking up meals for guests.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents.
Left to cherish Joe’s memory are his beloved wife of 58 years, Sharon; daughter, Kelly Geese Mellard, son, Kevin Geese and wife, Shannon; all of North Pole, Alaska; and his brother, Bill Geese and wife, Becky of Latham, Ohio; grandchildren, Sara Reid and husband, Cory, Meghan Locklear and husband, Zach, and Ryan Geese; and two great-grandchildren, Valencia and Mason
