Milton Gerald Hehr

Milton G. Hehr, 85, passed away March 26, 2013.

Memorial service will be 12 Noon, Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at Blue Ridge Boulevard United Methodist Church, 5055 Blue Ridge Blvd., KCMO 64133.

He was born September 24, 1927, in Port Clinton, Ohio, to Milton G. and Ethel E. (Whitaker) Hehr. After high school he enlisted in the Navy and served from 1946-1948. He received his undergraduate at Butler University, his MM in Musicology in 1957 and PhD in Music in 1963 from Boston University. He was a member of Pi Kappa Lambda fraternity. In 1971, he served as an officer on the first Executive Committee for the UMKC Conservatory of Music. He worked as Associate Professor Emeritus of Music at UMKC until retirement. He was a gifted pianist.

Survivors include his sisters, Audrey Razmus, of Seattle, WA, and Elizabeth Desi, of Paris France; his wife, Mary Frances DeBacker, of Raytown, MO; and Melody, Monica and Scott.

Milton was a member of the marching band in 1946 and played bass drum.
