Robert David Morrison

December 19, 1949 - November 3, 2014

Robert D. Morrison, 64, of Delaware, Ohio, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2014 at the Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio.

Bob was born December 19, 1949, in Findlay, Ohio, to the late Jerome L. and Vera (Inbody) Morrison.

Bob graduated from Findlay High School in 1968 and from The Ohio State University in 1972, where he was a 4-year member of the OSU marching band. He was a commercial real estate appraiser and was co-owner and manager of Georgetown apartments in Delaware, Ohio. Bob was an avid sailor, traveled widely, and participated in a number of musical groups in Columbus, including the Columbus Maennerchor and the Columbus Republican Glee Club. He also served as President of the Conductor's Club of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra.

He is survived by sisters, Margaret (Marnie) Morrison of Columbus, and Barbara (Steve) Robb of Lakeland, Florida; brother, John Morrison of Portland, Oregon; longtime partner, Jane Barry; aunt and uncle, Tom and Susie Morrison of Findlay; and a host of cousins.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Don and Kathryn Morrison and James C. and Mary Inbody.

An informal gathering of family and friends will be held between 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 9, 2014, at Heritage Golf Club, 3525 Heritage Club Drive, Hilliard, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kobacker House, Support for Talented Students, the Jazz Arts Group of Columbus, or a charity of choice.

Bob was a member of the marching band from 1968 through 1971. He played trumpet.
