Joseph Colfax Myers

November 5, 1927 - February 18, 2022

Joe was born November 5, 1927 and died February 18, 2022. He grew up in Orrville, Ohio and moved to Columbus to attend OSU.

In 1945, at 17 years old, he was the youngest drum major for The Ohio State University Marching Band and was Varsity O in track and field. He was a music education major at OSU where he met his wife Helen of 45 years.

He worked at General Motors for 40 years and was a longtime member of First Community Church where he sang in the choir. He also belonged to the Scottish Rite and was a WWII Army veteran.

He is survived by his sons, Joseph and Steven; daughter, Cheryl; and grandchildren, Tiffany, Derek, and Devon. Joe is loved by many more and will remain in our hearts.

Family will receive guests at Schoedinger Northwest, 1740 Zollinger Rd Thursday, February 24 from 4 pm to 7 pm, where service will be Friday, February 25, at 10:30 am. Joe was a member of the marching band in 1945 and 1946. He served as Drum Major.
