Robert Earl Roth

Robert “Bob” Earl Roth, Age 84 passed suddenly yet peacefully on September 3, 2021. He was born March 30, 1937 in Wauseon, Ohio, to Florence L. and Earl J. Roth of Archbold, Ohio. Bob was a professor of Environmental Education in the School of Environment and Natural Resources at The Ohio State University, where he was Associate Director from 1994 until retirement in 2001 when “Emeritus” faculty status was granted. He played Baritone in the OSU TBDBITL Alumni Marching Band since 1971. He enjoyed travel with his beloved wife Carol to more than 40 countries, singing in Germania and church choirs, family camping, fishing trips and serving as a volunteer at the J. N. “Ding” Darling Wildlife Refuge on Sanibel Island, Florida for 15 years.

Bob will be missed by his beloved wife Carol of more than 62 years: son Robin Earl (Jane P.) Roth, grandchildren Daniel H. Roth and Mary L. Roth; Son Bruce Robert (Kelly A.) Roth and grandchildren Kory C. Roth, Alexander R. Roth, and Sarah A. Roth. He is preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. September 18, 2021, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 398 S. Shoop Avenue, Wauseon, Ohio 43567, where family will receive family and friends from 10 A.M. until time of service. A reception and luncheon will follow at the same location. In lieu of flowers a memorial gift in Bob’s honor may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church, 398 South Shoop Avenue, Wauseon, Ohio 43567 or Ohio Living Foundation, 9200 Worthington Rd, Suite 300, C/O Westminster- Thurber, Westerville, Ohio 43082.

Bob was a member of the marching band from 1955 through 1959. He played Tenor horn and Baritone in M-Row.
