Laurance Murn Roush

April 5, 1935 - February 12, 2021

Laurance Murn Roush, 85, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully in his sleep at St. Ann's Hospital on February 12, 2021 in hospice care. Laurance was born April 5, 1935 at White Cross Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, to the late, Lewis Murn Roush and Dorothy Ruth Roush. He graduated from high school in June 1953, in the fall of 1953 tried out for marching band at OSU. He made the band and loved it! A favorite highlight being the Rose Bowl trip of 1955 and his marriage to his late wife, Julie Ann Roush. He was also in the Army Reserve, 338th Army Band, for over eight years, reached the rank of Sergeant E5.

Laurance enjoyed performing and teaching his music. He was an avid animal lover, he had many different pets over his lifetime. He particularly loved his cats and 2 dogs, Corkie and Barney. He also loved sports of any kind, his favorite team being OSU.

Laurance is survived by current wife, Carolyn of 20+ years; children, Mike Roush (Connie) Worthington, OH, Vicky Whittemore (Kevin) Columbus, Ohio, Steve Roush Worthington, Ohio, Sandy Roush Columbus, Ohio, and Craig Roush Worthington, Ohio; grandchildren, Jennifer, John, Eric and Karlie; and great grandchildren, James and Brantley.

Services will be held at Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home, 515 High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085. Visitation Monday, February 22, 2021 at 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM, funeral services following at 1:00 PM. Laurance will be laid to rest at Union Cemetery following the service.

Laurance was a member of the marching band from 1953 through 1955. He played Baritone in H-Row.
