David William Schwertfager

November 29, 1940 - August 28, 2017

David Schwertfager, age 76, Sunday, August 28, 2017 at Riverside Methodist Hospital.

Former employee of State of Ohio Deptartment of Human Services, and an adjunct professor with The Ohio State University School of Social Work.

Graduate of Ohio State University and former member of the best damn band in the land. He enjoyed being a part of the OSU alumni band and communicating worldwide via ham radio with call sign N8EFB.

He is preceded in death by his wife Judith. Survived by his sons, William and John; grandchildren, David and Evan.

Family will receive friends Friday from 11 am until 12 noon at the Shaw-Davis Funeral Home, 4341 North High Street, Columbus 43214, where funeral service will directly follow at 12 noon. Interment Union Cemetery.

Dave was a member of the marching band from 1958 through 1961 and played snare drum in L-Row. Dave served as President of TBDBITL Alumni Club and was the 1995 recipient of the Script Ohio award.
