George E W Souder

July 19, 1933 - July 16, 2008

George E. W. Souder, age 74, an avid fisherman, former Drum Major of The Ohio State University (1954-1955)and beloved husband of Annemarie Souder, passed away at Mt. Carmel East Hospital on July 16, 2008.

A graduate of Bexley High School, he joined the Ohio National Guard and enrolled at OSU, only to be called to active service with the 37th Infantry Division. He returned after two years of service to lead the OSU Marching Band.

He was preceded in death by parents Gladys and Walter Souder, sister Nancy Svatek and brother Robert Souder.

Survived by wife, Annemarie Souder; daughter, Kelly (Steve) Cox; sons, Scott Souder and Michael Souder; 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Siglinde Frech; brother-in-law, Gunter Roch; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Sunday, July 20, 2008, from 2-5 pm at Evans Funeral Home, 4171 East Livingston Ave, where service will be held Monday, July 21, 2008, at 10:30 am with Pastor Thomas Wolfe officiating. Interment Glen Rest Memorial Estates.

George was a member of the marching band in 1954 and 1955. He was Drum Major.
