Donn Richard Younger

June 27, 1943 - April 25, 2023

Donn Younger, 79, passed away April 25, 2023. He was born to the late Norval and Ruth Younger of Upper Arlington on June 27, 1943. Survived by his brother, David Younger of Westerville, Ohio. Nephew, Craig Younger, Las Vegas, Nevada, Niece-in-law, Laura Younger, Las Vegas, great nephew, Colin Younger, Las Vegas, great nieces, Allison Younger and Shae Younger, Las Vegas, Great great niece, Kennadee Younger, Las Vegas.

Donn attended OSU in 1961 and 1962, was a member of OSU marching band and went to a Rose Bowl game. Graduated from Toledo University in 1966, worked for the Eli Lilly Drug Co. in finance and then personnel manager in New York and London, England. He travelled extensively through Eastern Europe and the U.S.

Donn was Chairman of the OSU Alumni Marching Band in the 1990’s. The band performed in major trips to Ireland in 1993 and Japan in 1996, and in numerous Ohio cities.

Donn was a member of the marching band from 1961 through 1962. He played Trumpet.

As a member of the alumni club, Donn distinguished himself as head of the HyperActive Band. Under his leadership the group achieved a high level of support for the University and the community at large including a very considerable amount of cash contributions to the scholarship funds. In addition, he chaired the Travel Committee and Active Band and established the end-of-season pizza party for the marching band.

In 1989, Donn was the recipient of the Elvin Donalson, Most Inspirational Alumni Bandmember award. In 1992, he received the Script Ohio award.
